Every landscape design
is a unique creation,
specifically detailed to
represent the taste and style
of the customer.

Many design themes are
derived from natural subject
matter, such as a mountain
stream, tropical island or
high desert.

Other themes may be based
on color, plant variety,
ethnic culture or
architectural period.

We can design a landscape
for your home that is easy
to care for, while it reflects
your style and personality.

The design process begins with an accurate base plan.  All dimensions are
taken, including that of existing trees and structural elements within the space.

On the left, you can see an
example of a simple base
plan.  This is a typical
suburban backyard, with a
width of 60'.  Currently, there
is no landscaping in place,
so this will be a totally new
design......basically a "blank
canvas".

The next step in the design
process is to begin to
define the space....to break
it up into functional sections.

How a space is used has a
very important impact on its
design.  Every client has
different  expectations.  The
designer and client must
collaborate to make sure
every issue and detail is
taken into account.

After the surface areas have been blocked out, the bed profiles are refined .
Then, specific elements, such as a patio, shrub beds, storage facility, water feature, specimen trees
and lawn are arranged within the conceptual layout.
Now we can see the project begin to take shape.  It is the designer's responsibility to skillfully blend
all these things, while also remembering the function and scale of the plant materials, the overall
theme and how the entire image will visually flow in a pleasing and harmonious way.

The design may undergo many alterations and revisions before it is complete.  Finally, the
plants are selected and labeled.  And all necessary details are noted.  The finished design becomes
a working template for all consequential site development.

It takes a great deal of experience and creativity to visualize the finished job, long before any planting
or construction actually begins.  But it's clear to see how  an empty space can be transformed into
something quite valuable and unique with careful planning.   An expertly rendered design is
essential to insure a cost effective and well organized outcome.
